Sire: Vadamos

Colour: Bay

Dam: Lady Woodcote

Sex: Colt

Age: 2

Foaled: Oct 10, 2019

Country: New Zealand

Trainer: Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr

It was a hit and run mission with the challenges that this year’s New Zealand bloodstock sale presented. We tasked our bloodstock agent, Jeremy Rogers, to find a classic colt who would fit the mould of a Caulfield Guineas/Vic Derby type of horse. So when lot 497 was knocked down to Roll the Dice Racing on day 2 we were rapt, as was Jeremy and Chris Rutten, who was doing a lot of leg work for Jeremy on the ground in New Zealand.

The colt is by international Group 1 winning miler in France, Vadamos, who won 8 times between 1600m and 2400m, including running fourth to Winx in the 2016 W.S Cox Plate. Vadamos himself is by sire of sires, Monsun, who has been a breed shaper in the Northern Hemisphere, and Vadamos’ offspring are already showing great promise as 2YO’s.

This colt’s dam Lady Woodcote is by Europe’s best dam sire in Pivotal, and she is a half-sister to the Group 1 winner Maarek, and she has had two foals to the races for two winners.

This colt brings Europe’s best bloodlines, and he has an athletic build with an amazing constitution, and a very loose and fluid action. He has all the hallmarks to make his mark on the Australian racing scene. The colt has been educated in New Zealand and will have a prep with Lauren Brennan before being exported to Australia early next year.
