RTD Season in review 2017/18

2018-08-07

A big shout out to all our loyal owners for their support during the 2017/18 season. With a winning strike rate of 13%, 45% placing strike rate from only 15 starters. The pleasing aspect of the results indicate that while we have had limited numbers go around we have had 2 city winners, 1 stakes winner and 1 stakes placed runner, and with some lovely types stepping out in the spring we are certainly hoping to improve in all areas especially city and stakes winning percentages.

Spring 2018

We are all set for a massive spring with a variety of horses from the stable, including Krone and Anjana flying the flag for the 3YO fillies, and we have a couple of nice 3YO staying colts coming out shortly. Our older horses purchased recently include Oberland, who will step out for the first time this week, and seasoned-stayer, Andrea Mantegna, who is being aimed at the country cups. All in all, RTD will have an exciting start to the 2018/19 season.

2018/19 Season

This season is set to be our biggest yet! RTD are always looking for ways to improve the owner experience and bringing our owners closer tot he action. Your feedback from our initial survey indicated you wanted more regular communications and the introduction of the weekly newsletter has been extremely well received. Our next big focus is our spring events calendar and the spring carnival punters club. Whether you have a horse racing or not, come down, get involved, and be part of RTD's spring carnival festivities. We would love to see you there.

Our focus on horse selection for this season is simple, we are looking where others simply don't venture, ensuring great types at competitive prices.  While still attending all Australian sales with John Foote and Jeremy Rogers, we are venturing into the UK market for the first time in October. The success of Krone will lead us back to the 2YO ready to run's in Oz and NZ in October and November and we will continue to work with agents in purchasing tried horses, even a Caulfield/Melbourne cup horses next year.

Finally, we would like to thank you all again for your continued support, and let's hope we all get to enjoy that winning feeling!

Looking forward to a fantastic racing season..

Cheers,

RTD Team

Steve, Rob and Leigh!
