Above – Swing and Boom powering to the line at Sandown last Wednesday

It was a satisfying afternoon for connections of Swing and Boom at Sandown last Wednesday lining up in a 3YO fillies BM64 over 1300m, The RTD/Price team elected to take a claim with exciting young jockey Tom Stockdale taking the ride. From barrier 3 Tom was forced wide early and was pushed three deep with no cover and faced a strong head wind all the way down the back straight and coming around the turn.

As the race heated up Tom allowed her to improve and she worked to the line nicely to stick her head out and get the bob over Feign who sat back off a good tempo with cover and never went around a horse. It was such a tough win that trainer Mick Price had no hesitation in recommending that she take on some of the best 3YO fillies in the country in the Group 3 Vanity Stakes over 1400m at Flemington in 3 weeks time.

Another value buy from the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale, and purchased by RTD’s John Foote for the princely sum of $35,000. This filly now has a city win to her name and if we can get some valuable black type into her pedigree then she will have enormous residual as a broodmare. Swing and Boom continues the great run for Roll the Dice Racing with their stable of fillies and mares that includes stakes winners Twitchy Frank, Krone, Anjana and La Falaise who are all on autumn campaigns and running in black type races in the next month.
