It was a happy return to Mildura for Paramedic on Monday where he broke his maiden at only his second race start. From the wide barrier jockey Dean Holland snagged Paramedic to the rear of the field and he sat three wide with cover off a reasonably strong speed. Coming to the turn he went around every horse and come away nicely after making a long run.
The 4YO son of Reliable Man has been very much the slow maturing type and our faithful owners have had to be patient as trainer Paul Presumer has taken the long road with this guy. It seems that patience is starting to pay off as he was very impressive in the way he won on Monday. While the team are not getting too carried away we think there is still a lot of improvement to come with the gelding as Paul looks to extend him out to 1600m and beyond. “He will be a better horse next preparation Preusker said and he looks to have a nice future, I have a big opinion of the stablemate that beat him last time out during Mildura Cup carnival and this bloke is finally heading in the right direction.”
Congratulations to all our patient owners on the win and we look forward to his next assignment where we will be pushing him out over 1600m in the next couple of weeks.
