It’s with a heavy heart that that we are dealing with the news of Dean Holland’s passing on Monday following a tragic fall at Donald Racecourse. Dean only rode a handful of horses for us but had already established a strong rapport with the team and everything you hear about him is spot on. He was a terrific guy with a heart of gold and always had time for us and our owners. The tragic loss of Dean puts a lot of things into perspective and the fact that he leaves behind a partner and four young children is devastating.
The best way to support Dean’s legacy and his family is through a Go Fund Me page which has been setup, and amazingly the balance tipped over the $1.3m mark yesterday and continues to climb. This week we made the decision to donate RTD ownership percentages in prizemoney for the next week to Dean’s Go Fund Me page and we have mentioned that to our owners in the pre-race reports. Unfortunately, our horses haven’t gone too well this week but we will make an extra donation early next week to ensure our contribution is substantial and supports the family. We reach out to all owners and subscribers if you’re in a position to help, to dig deep either with prizemoney or a small donation, as every little bit will help support Dean’s family.
