The RTD team toured the Victorian Stud circuit on Sunday, and it was an absolute cracking day at Swettenham and Lovatsville Studs, followed by lunch at the lovely Mitchelton Winery. Sometimes it’s more confusing walking away from these stud tours as you want to send your mares to all the stallions.
It hits you straight away what amazing condition they are all in, and the stud manager’s reminders of how well performed they were on the racetrack gives you the emotional pull. Despite the tours and what amazing athletes these stallions are, it’s so important to now do the work and complete the matchings with industry experts and genetic assessments.
We are close to narrowing down our selections for 2024 and we will be organising a breeding information night in the coming weeks with our owners to share how we have shortlisted our selections.
