When you go to the races as an owner you are always hopeful of your horse running well and that was exception today at Caulfield with Ayrton lining up in a BM70 3YO race over 1400m.

While we expected him to improve off his first up run at Bendigo we didn’t expect him to win as comprehensively as he did on debut. The 3YO gelding by Iffraaj was outstanding as he built momentum throughout the run and ran away for an easy 4.5 length win.

After the race trainer Mick Price commented that he didn’t get things all his own way today and he got a little fizzy and carried on before the race. He was also made to work in the first 500m. A good Caulfield judge said that they don’t do that very often facing the breeze up the hill, three wide and finish like that.

Its all good signs for the Price/Kent/Kah team and lets hope a little break for the gelding and a freshen up sees some nice races in the Autumn or Spring and plenty of fun for his onwers.
