Here is your chance to get involved in an international filly with a terrific pedigree.
It’s not too often John Foote gets too excited about his purchases, but he was very excited after purchasing Lot 33, a Zarak filly for the RTD team. John was just raving about this filly as she is the complete package. Not too big and not too small, conformation perfect, a truly athletic filly in every way who will suit Australian racing perfectly (check out the way she moves in the video below).
Horse conformation aside, this filly’s pedigree is one of the best in the international stud book. By young exciting stallion Zarak, a Gr1 winner himself by the best stallion in the world Dubawi, and his mother Zarkava a 5 time Gr1 winner, including the Arc in France, and a champion 2YO and 3YO filly in Europe. Zarak’s 2nd crop on the racetrack are dominating with 68% winners to runners, and he’s already had three Gr1 placed fillies in Europe, and multiple black type winners and placegetters.
This filly’s dam Mediteranea was unraced and has produced 2 winners, and the 2nd dam was a Group winner and Gr1 placed and produced Erupt, a Group 1 winner by Dubawi, which is the same breeding cross as this filly. Even the 3rd dam Salvora is closely related to horses we know well in Australia in Pear Tart, I Am A Star, Tiamo Grace and Elegant Composure. If this filly wins a nice race, then she will be a very valuable commodity to Australian studs.
This is the pick of the fillies in this sale according to John, and she looks like a classic type of filly who will get a mile as a 3YO and further as she fully matures. She will soon be moved to England where she will enter quarantine for a up to a month before being transported to Melbourne. Peter Moody is doing a wonderful job with the international horses we have purchased over the last 2 years and he has again been selected to train this girl.
With over 60% already reserved, she won’t last long given the recent success of Crux winning last month, and our Nathaniel and Mastercraftsman geldings bought last year showing so much promise.
