Mount Madeira finally got the monkey off his back on Saturday with a much deserved win at Yarra Valley in a BM58 over 1950m. Jockey, Jack Hill rode the horse perfectly and allowed the leaders to go hard early and we just sat back and watched the race unfold. As we stated last week it can be tricky to run on but the early pace meant that if Jack was patient the runs would come and they did and to the horses credit he took the gap and finished off as we expected to win nicely.

Trainer, Andrew Bobbin was very happy with the result and he is keeping the horse happy and changing up his routine at home. Andrew is considering his option including potentially stepping him out further to 2400m. The RTD team would like to congratulate all the owners who stayed loyal to the horse, he is certainly performing consistently at the moment and we are sure you are all enjoying the experience. As he backed up on Saturday, Andrew will give him an easy time over the next week and let’s hope he can step out further in trip and we will look for another race in a few weeks time.
