It was another emotionally exhausting week that passed, and in a way we are glad the Golden Slipper has been run and won. Clearly it wasn’t the result we were after, and as much as everyone would like to speculate, Profiteer just didn’t perform to expectations on the big day. Trainer Mick Price was devastated that our gun colt didn’t go as well as we know he can, and Profiteer will now enjoy a nice spell and be aimed at the Coolmore as a 3YO in the spring. While we all left the course disappointed, we all went on to the Harbour View Hotel and enjoyed a good night reminiscing on how amazing the ride has been, and how just getting to a slipper was an amazing experience. On the track all credit must go to the winner Stay Inside who won very impressively, and especially to two of his owners, Nadia Angelo and Anna Dodgshun, who also have ownership interests in Profiteer. Both ladies are amazing supporters of RTD, and also happened to have a share in Stay Inside, tasting the ultimate success. On behalf of the whole RTD community, our sincerest congratulations to all connections of Stay Inside, particularly Anna and Nadia, on winning the 2021 Golden Slipper.
