Last Sunday we held our much anticipated RTD Racehorse and Yearling Parade. It was a perfect morning and afternoon weather-wise and over 65 RTD owners, friends and family made the 1 ½ hour trip up the Hume Highway to Longwood for the day.

The morning started with a freshly brewed coffee and a sweet treat, followed by a parade of 6 of our 8 yearlings on offer. The team at Leneva Park then took a couple of groups, one on a tour of the facility including the pre-training setup, stables, walkers, water-walkers and the uphill training track. The other group went to the spelling paddocks and they got a pat and a cuddle with their favourite horses as they lapped up the attention.

We then had 45 join us at Mitchelton where we treated everyone to a full wine tasting at the beautiful cellar door, followed by a scrumptious two course feasting style lunch at Muse restaurant for the afternoon. It was a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other in the beautiful surrounds of the winery and Goulburn River. Some even had the foresight to book a room at the onsite boutique hotel while others meandered back to Melbourne.

It was a fantastic day and we look forward to when even more of you can join us next time. A special thanks needs to go to Sarah and Joel from Leneva Park for having us and allowing us to facilitate the day, and a special thanks to Mitchelton for fitting us in and ensuring everyone was looked after.
