RTD went to $330k to secure a 3/4 brother to recent stakes winner and RTD owned Hedged at the Magic Millions Sale on the Gold Coast this afternoon. The imposing colt is by champion sire, Written Tycoon, himself close to retirement and we will be doing everything we can to turn this colt into a sire himself. ‘
“He is a similar type to Hedged but perhaps a bit bigger and stronger than Hedged was as a yearling” said bloodstock agent, Jeremy Rogers who selected both colts for RTD. This bodes well for this colt as size and strength is half the battle in getting horses to the track and performing well. The family needs no introduction with Acing Shamrock, the colt’s dam being by Fastnet Rock, probably one of the best broodmare sires of his generation.
This colt is bred on the same cross as Hedged and he will be given every chance on the racecourse. He looks a late 2YO early 3YO type who will be aimed at all of the spring classics in 2027. Cranbourne trainer, Gavin Bedggood will train the colt, he also trains Hedged so that was the logical choice.
