In what is proving to be a very tough climate due to COVID-19 border restrictions in getting access to inspecting yearlings and 2YO ready to runs, Roll the Dice Racing has been using all of its resources to ensure we continue to buy the right horses at the right prices.
Last week we had John Foote on the case in the UK and France where we selected a lovely Pivotal colt at a bargain price. This week all the hard work paid off as Jeremy Rogers has been inspecting 2YO’s on farms all over Victoria for the last month. On Tuesday we were ready for the sale after all of our homework and we were delighted to secure lot 101, a colt by Sooboog for $85,000.
This colt is seriously fast as shown in his breeze up (200m sprint) of 10.39. There is speed all through the page as the colt’s dam Rustic Rossa is by the proven broodmare sire, Testa Rossa. Rustic Rossa has had 5 foals to race for 4 winners. Rustic Rossa is also a three quarter sister to stakes winner Amberino who has produced the very smart Winter Bride.
The colt will now have a break before being aimed at the later 2YO races for the autumn. So if you are keen to get involved in a horse and don’t want to wait around for two years to get to the track then this guy is for you! You could be at the track within 6 months of purchase.
