This week we were at the Inglis Ready to Run Sales with Steve and Jeremy. We bid on a couple of nice 2YO’s that we thought were in our wheelhouse price-wise and were completely blown out of the water. As such, we didn’t even entertain bidding on Lot 181, a colt by I Am Invincible, thinking it would make $300K plus, and couldn’t believe our eyes to see it pass in at $200K. We have since spent the last 48 hours getting a deal done with the vendor and have managed to secure the colt for $180K purchase price.
This is a steal for a quality colt like this who breezed up in 10.52 seconds. He is by Australia’s most prolific sire of winners and stakes winners, I Am Invincible. His dam is Prom Queen, who is a Group 3 winner and stakes placed on 3 occasions. He is her second foal and looks a real running type.
We can now see the tide turning in favour of the buyer as prices start to come down for quality horses, and we couldn’t be happier to secure this colt and race him in RTD colours. This colt will be trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman at their Flemington and Mornington training base.
