Profiteer is ready to make his second Group 1 appearance in his short career, this Friday night at The Valley in the Moir Stakes over 1000m. The speedy 3YO colt by sire sensation Capitalist has been impressing in his jump outs showing very good speed.

Its a recipe that is required for the 1000m around The Valley circuit and trainer Mick Price knows what it takes to win having tasted success in recent times with Extreme Choice and Samaready. Profiteer profiles very similarly to Extreme Choice but he doesn’t have the runs on the board as Extreme Choice did as a 2YO winning the Blue Diamond Stakes. That means there is more pressure on Profiteer to step up in his 3YO season and the Moir on Friday, followed by the Coolmore during the Flemington carnival have become the stallion making opportunities for the exciting colt.

Profiteer has drawn barrier 7 in the small field of 11 runners and with 3 Group 1 winners in the field he will need to be at his best to win the feature sprint on the opening night of night racing at The Valley. Trainer Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr couldn’t have the star colt in any better condition for his first up assault and the team are confident he will run well and give the others something to chase.
