It was a tough few days out at Oaklands Junction this weekend with the Inglis Premier sale starting on Sunday and concluding on Tuesday afternoon. In Victoria’s biggest yearling sale competition had been strong during the first two days with the sale averaging a tick under $130k. Day 3 on Tuesday saw the competition soften and RTD were ready to strike with two really nice purchases.

The first purchase was lot 728 a Palentino filly by Silent Spring, she is by outstanding broodmare sire in Marauding. The mare is a half relation to Royal Symphony and Hoodlum and has had four to the races and had four winners. Selected by Jeremy Rogers who had a very close relationship with this fillies sire in Palentino and every time he got her out of the box she reminded him of the champion 3YO and 4YO stallion.

Shortly after the euphoria of getting lot 728, RTD struck again with lot 767 another quality filly by Gr.1 winning sire Manhattan Rain out of Valhalla Wedding who is an international mare by Lonhro. This is a truly international pedigree and out bloodstock agent John Foote who travels worldwide selecting horses feels that if this filly can win a good race, she will be a very valuable commodity as a broodmare.

All in all the RTD team were delighted to strike late in the sale, ensuring that we got got great value for our money by selecting quality horses without the hefty price tags. The team will be busy putting together a PDS for both purchases so get in touch with Rob on 0448 462 824 or rob@rollthedice.com.au to reserve your share in either or both fillies.
