It was an historic day for the RTD team on day 1 at the famous Warrnambool May Carnival on Tuesday. We had our first hurdle starter in Andrea Mantegna have his first start in the maiden hurdle and while it wasn’t a winning debut we felt he went great running third at his first attempt. Magna has shown really good jumping ability to date and we felt he jumped well as he managed to get around the course unscathed.

Rider Richard Cully commented that he was happy with the run and feels it was a good experience for the horse and he will benefit greatly from the outing. We will give him a few days off to recover and see how he pulls up before making a decision on where we go next with him.

There is more to come for RTD and its followers with Oberland a sneaky chance in the Wangoom tomorrow and Artie Dee Two possibly backing up in the open handicap on Thursday. Some much needed rain would be welcomed for both our chances tomorrow and Thursday.
