St. Arnicca went super in the 3200m open hurdle handicap at Warrnambool last Friday. While starting favourite, we wanted to get him to relax and be strong late, and the second favourite made the play in front.  Our bloke jumped really well in the early stages and relaxed near the rear of the field.

Coming to the 600m, jockey Will Gordon allowed our boy to come into the race and he continued to jump really well. At the turn he was right on the heels of the pack, and when completing the final jump he really lifted and ran past the leaders for a very impressive win. Excitingly, it looks like St Arnicca will now head to the world famous Warrnambool Carnival in May and be aimed at the Galleywood Hurdle via another lead up at Pakenham in a couple of weeks.

Its exciting times for the team and we are sure trainer, Paul Preusker has the gelding spot on for his next assignments.
